California’s Newest Airline Takes Off After Years of Uncertainty

A new airline based in California began service on Thursday. Called California Pacific, it will fly four 50-seat Embraer E145 jets by month’s end. California Pacific Airlines

Skift Take: We weren’t sure Ted Vallas, age 97, would live long enough to see his new California-based airline fly. He proposed it back in 2009. Now here’s a better question: Can the airline possibly survive over the long-term? We’re not optimistic.
